my secret innuendo® 
Rather than allow the rumor mill to continue to spin out of control, I picked up the super-secret bat phone and dialed up Laura Dankowski, the current editor of Chile Pepper Magazine. It seems that the same rumors which I have been hearing had made their way to her desk, email account, and cell phone as well. Even the most recent editor, Gretchen VanEsselstyn, was said to have called her to find out why she hadn’t heard of the closing of the magazine before now.
