always dreaming of another way to wrestle with time…
to see my path through the hourglass of dreaming,
of moments that spiral without reason to nowhere specific
except the path
that is meant for me…
are you lost now in nothingness?
i thought you said you trust
the stepping stones you feel
with your barefeet, eyes closed.
you know that time hides behind thorns sometimes…
yet, i thrive
and live with its heartbeat
that never stops to lead its way.
stand still now, precious moment
you pierce me
lead me now to forever

I, too, wrote about time tonight. I like your use of hourglass and heartbeat.
🙂 the ancient way to set time, and i ilke to think of time beating to its own heartbeat. thanks 🙂

Loved reading the thoughts.
Happy New Year
thank you… time is a good one for the new year 😉
I love this. Right now is the only time I have. This is well-crafted. Thank you!
be present with “time” wherever time is (whatever that means 🙂
I love the imagery in this. My favorite line is: “you know that time hides behind thorns” Boy, is this true!
yes, the thorns i think are what keep us from truly envisioning our best future.. the fears in the thorns have power. so we need to look at them 🙂
I too like the imagery of ‘lead you to forever’.
Great take on our struggle with time!
it’s all about timing 😉 thanks for visiting…
If we could only make time stand still.
Thank you for sharing!

thank you… that you enjoyed. i’ll check out yours…
A perfect reflection for the end-of-the year.
Time–a human construct. And we only have the present moment.
Happy New Year, Robin
My rally: http://liv2write2day.wordpress.com/2010/12/30/darkness-is-only-a-degree-of-light/
yes, time a human construct… life seems better without it 🙂
Time is often elusive, not only hiding behind thorns but also racing away, sometimes hidden for a day, sometimes more, but who can keep score?
no need to keep score 🙂
time, time…
time they say is the only cure and time alone can heal broken hearts. but will time remove the scars?
it got me thinking. well done.
happy new year and happy rallying.
Thanks,
Cha

Hi Robin, I very much like the images you’ve given through your verse, hourglass of dreaming is quite eloquent 🙂
Even I’m trying to wrestle with time, though I end up losing quite often.. 😉
Why The Hesitation? My Poetry For Rally Week 36
thank you.. words and time make for some awesome images together 🙂
TIME IS THE ONLY CONSTANT. HOW WE DEAL WITH IT OR ITS EFFECT ON US IS ONLY ONE QUEST. GOOD WRITE.
thanks, sam… i could go on and on about the concept of time…
“time hides behind thorns” is so poetic. You really have talent.
As a reader, I say “This is incredible!” As a competitor, my reaction is more along the lines of “Uh-oh…”
I wish you the best of luck in the Poets Rally Week 36. Not that you’ll need it ;D
thanks, imagination…..

We never realize how precious those moments are…Thanks!
